Gridbox Pro

Files and export

3MF and STL

Every bin, shadowbox and drawer base exports as a 3MF or STL file. A 3MF carries its millimeters and opens at the right size in every slicer, and STL is the classic format older tools and marketplaces ask for. Color plates, label cards and split pieces each export as files of their own, and Gridbox Pro can also save a print-ready Bambu Studio project with the settings in it. Pick your printer before you export, and the file fits its bed.

The .gridboxpro file

When you save a project, you get a .gridboxpro file with the photo, the outline, every setting and the drawer inside it. Anyone you send it to can open it in the free app and change it for their own drawer. Exporting a printable file from it takes their own license.

Gridbox Pro's Export tab for the wire cutters shadowbox: plate presets with P1S picked, the project file, the shadowbox, the ShadowFit test piece and color plates ticked, SnapSplit saying it fits in one print, and Export 4 as ZIP

Paper templates

Shadowbox exports a full-size paper template of your outlines for cutting foam by hand.

Where the license comes in

Designing is free, your work keeps in Saved bins inside the app, and anyone can open a .gridboxpro file someone sends them. The license covers the files you save out of the app, including 3MF and STL files, .gridboxpro project files and preset packs, and it's $130, one time at launch. SVG and DXF cut files and foam sheet layers come with the Commercial license, and the paper template is free. You can buy it from the export window or from the price section of this site.
